The story follows the Avengers and Justice League of America when both groups are used as pawns in a game between Krona and the Grandmaster. Running from 2003 to 2004, the four-issue JLA/Avengers was one of the few crossovers between Marvel and DC Comics. Pérez is not only a founding member of the group, but he's also the recipient of the Hero Initiative Lifetime Achievement Award. Since its creation, the Hero Initiative has granted over $1 million to those working in the industry. The Hero Initiative is a charity founded in 2000 that is strictly dedicated to helping comic book creators in need by offering them a financial safety net for emergency medical aid and essentials for life. Other online auctions, sellers or stores also have high minimum bids, but the proceeds are going to directly benefit the Hero Initiative.

On eBay, copies of the new JLA/Avengers have already sold for around the $200 mark, with one being listed as high as $400. While the copy doesn't officially release until March 16, online scalpers have seized the opportunity to resell the edition at massively high prices.
